Affiliate Terms & Conditions

These Affiliate Terms ("Terms") govern your participation in the StorynoteAffiliate Program ("Program"), operated by Writing Peers ("we," "our," "us"). By enrolling, you agree to these Terms in addition to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The Program is powered by Affonso.

1. Enrollment

  • You must apply and enroll through our affiliate platform, Affonso.
  • We may approve or reject any application at our sole discretion.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts.

2. Commissions

  • 95% commission on the first month’s subscription fee per referred user.
  • 50% recurring commission on the subsequent months for up to 11 months.
  • Commissions are earned only on active, paid subscriptions.
  • No commissions are due on refunded, failed, or chargebacked transactions.

3. Payouts

  • Commissions become eligible for payout 30 days after the referred user’s payment.
  • Minimum payout threshold: $30 USD.
  • Payouts are processed via PayPal.
  • You are responsible for maintaining accurate PayPal and tax details in your Affonso account.

4. Tracking & Attribution

  • Referrals are tracked via cookies and identifiers managed by Affonso.
  • Cookie duration: 60 days from the initial click.
  • We are not responsible for failed attribution due to user/browser behavior (e.g., cookie blocking/clearing, private browsing) or ad blockers.

5. Promotional Standards

  • No misleading claims, false advertising, or unsupported promises about Storynote.
  • No spam, unsolicited messages, or deceptive marketing. Comply with applicable laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR, platform rules).
  • No bidding on "Storynote" or confusingly similar brand terms in paid search ads.
  • Do not impersonate Storynote or represent yourself as our employee or official agent.
  • Disclose affiliate links clearly and conspicuously as required by the FTC and similar regulations.

6. Content & Brand Use

  • You may use the Storynote name and approved assets solely to promote the Service.
  • Do not modify our trademarks or create logos that imply endorsement beyond the Program.
  • We may request edits or removal of any promotional content that violates these Terms.

7. Refunds & Adjustments

  • No commission is due on refunded, canceled, or chargebacked transactions.
  • If a commission is paid and a refund occurs within 30 days, the amount may be deducted from future payouts.

8. Taxes

You are responsible for reporting and paying all applicable taxes on commissions you receive. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may be required to provide tax forms (e.g., W-8BEN / W-9) before payouts can be processed.

9. Term & Termination

  • Either party may terminate participation in the Program at any time for any reason.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for breaches of these Terms, unlawful conduct, or activity that may harm our reputation.
  • Upon termination, approved but unpaid commissions that meet payout eligibility will be paid in the next cycle.

10. Program Changes

We may modify the Program (including but not limited to commission rates, payout thresholds, or eligibility) or these Terms at any time. Continued participation after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Relationship of Parties

You act as an independent contractor, not as our employee, partner, or agent. You have no authority to bind Storynote to any obligation.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data arising from the Program. Our aggregate liability will not exceed total commissions paid to you in the preceding 12 months.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. The courts of Amsterdam have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
